Pharmacy Legislative Day

Thank you to all who attended Pharmacy Legislative Day!

On Wednesday, April 19, 2017, over 400 pharmacists and pharmacy students converged in Harrisburg to push for fair pharmacy reimbursement and to show our lawmakers how pharmacies are putting patients first! Attendees met with over 160 legislators (or their staff) and delivered packets of information to all other offices for which visits were not able to be scheduled. We also held our “Putting Patients First" Rally and students conducted various health screenings displays. Pharmacy definitely made its voice heard in the halls and offices of the Capitol!

It is important to remember that Legislative Day is only one day of the year, so we need to continue to work on carrying forward the positive momentum we’ve built. Here are some of the ways you can help...

For those who attended Pharmacy Legislative Day:

  • Be sure to complete a Reporting Form for each of your legislative appointments (if you have not already done so) and email it to jstuby@papharmacists.com. We’ll use these to address any questions or concerns legislators expressed during meetings.
  • Send a follow-up letter or email to your legislator’s office thanking them for meeting yesterday and reminding them about the issues you discussed. You’re welcome to draft your own letter or modify the sample letter posted on PPA’s Legislative Action Center at www.papharmacists.com/ActionCenter.
  • Stay up-to-date on our legislative issues by visiting www.papharmacists.com/Issues and continue to support our advocacy efforts by responding to any Calls to Action.
  • Schedule a meeting with your legislators in their district offices to follow-up on your conversations.

For those who were unable to attend Pharmacy Legislative Day:

  • Contact your state senator and state representative to schedule a meeting with them in their district office.
  • Stay up-to-date on our legislative issues by visiting www.papharmacists.com/Issues and continue to support our advocacy efforts by responding to any Calls to Action.

Please contact Jeff Stuby if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
