The 2009 PPA Annual Conference took place October 1-4, 2009
at the Best Western Eden Resort, in Lancaster, PA. The
conference generated a lot of interest among pharmacists,
exhibitors, students, and pharmacy technicians, with over
300 conference attendees! Lancaster County’s beautiful
countryside, the educational programming, the wonderful
attractions, the Exhibit Hall, and the social events all
contributed to the success of the year’s conference.
PPA Annual Golf Outing
As part of the Annual Conference, PPA held a fun golf outing
at the nearby Overlook Golf Course. The autumn day was a
little overcast, grey and distinctively chilly but that did
not stop the play or the fact that everyone had a great
time. Of great help, were the warm fleece vests contributed
by RDC for each player. Thank you RDC! A new wrinkle this
year was Law on the Links. Players needed to read scenarios
about a fictional pharmacy and the many dilemmas they
encountered on every hole and consider the correct course of
action. Later during the outing wrap-up, correct information
for each scenario was reviewed by faculty developer and
presenter Jerry Musheno. The Lancaster County Pharmacists
Association sponsored the luncheon and RDC coordinated the
tee sponsorships. Thank you to Bob & Coleen Kayden for
providing the golf tee bags to participants. We extend a special thanks to all those
who did provide sponsorships.
