PPA's Pharmacy Legislative Day, held Tuesday,
April 8 in Harrisburg, had a great turnout.
Pharmacists and pharmacy students from across Pennsylvania
came out in their white coats to show pharmacy's strength!

The day included screenings,
displays, and information provided by
Pennsylvania’s six schools of pharmacy
in the East Wing Rotunda of the Capitol.

The
pharmacy schools provided attendees with information on the
following topics:
LECOM School of Pharmacy: Pharmacy Based Immunizations
Duquesne University Mylan School of Pharmacy: Blood Glucose
& Cholesterol Screenings, Body Fat Analysis
Temple University School of Pharmacy: Diabetes Awareness &
Management
Wilkes University Nesbitt College of Pharmacy: Medication
Therapy Management Services
University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy: Smoking
Cessation & Medication Reviews
University of Sciences in Philadelphia, Philadelphia College
of Pharmacy: Patient Medication Rights & Responsibility

Participants were also able to meet with legislators and
staffers to discuss important issues of the profession
focusing on
Fair Audits, Expansion of Scope of Practice/Collaborative
Practice, One Pennsylvania, and Safe Medication Disposal.
This was a great opportunity for PPA members to have their
voices heard
and to stress the importance of issues facing pharmacy
today.
