This Year's Recipient

Tamre Joyce, R.Ph. was the recipient of the Association’s 2009 Community Service Award.

Joyce has dedicated her time to the promotion of pharmacy and pharmacists care throughout the community.  As an active member of PPA, she has served on various committees, was the Pocono Mountain Pharmacist Association’s Delegate to the House of Delegates and is extremely active in service to the Stroudsburg School District. She is a 1981 graduate of Duquesne University, a pharmacist at CVS Pharmacy in East Stroudsburg, PA and also actively involved in community service activities such as brown bag presentations, health fairs, and events throughout the county. She has been a valuable member of the Pocono Mountain Pharmacists Association as secretary and serving on the task force to re-write association bylaws. Joyce has coordinated county continuing education programs and is responsible for meeting planning and organization. Her continued dedication to the association has helped it survive and attract new members. She also served on PPA’s House nominating committee and membership committee. Most recently, she served as co-chairperson of the 2008-2009 PPA Conference committee.
