Presented to an individual who has shown outstanding devotion and service to PPA, his/her own county or local association, as well as strong commitment to and involvement in local community activities.

This award may be presented to a pharmacist or a non-pharmacist.

The 2009 George H. Searight Memorial Award was presented to D. Scott Himler, R.Ph.

Himler received this award due to his strong commitment and dedication to the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association and his involvement in local association and community activities.

Himler’s tireless efforts and involvement not only in PPA but also the Montgomery County Pharmacists Association demonstrate his selflessness and determination for the profession. He has tried to keep the county association viable and relevant. Himler is a past president of PPA, serves on PPA’s Legislative Committee and the Pharmacy Technician Task Force for PPA. He has also been a very active participant on PPA’s membership committee in the past.
