This program is designed to complement a series of on-demand webinars available through PPA on Increasing Adult Immunizations.

 

Program Objectives for Pharmacists

At the end of the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

  1. Describe the certification, training, and program requirements for pharmacist-administered immunizations under the PDPH adult immunization protocol
  2. Explain the standards of practice for administering immunizations to adults in Philadelphia
  3. Describe the eligibility, contraindications and precautions, and proper administration of influenza, pneumococcal, and zoster vaccines
  4. Give examples of best practices for vaccine administration, storage, and handling
  5. Review pharmacist responsibilities regarding reporting of immunizations to the Philadelphia Immunization Information System (KIDS Plus IIS)
  6. Describe the role pharmacists can play in public health emergencies
