Title: Measuring Quality Performance: The CMS 5 Star Ratings - What They Are & Why They Matter
Star Ratings continue to change and impact the healthcare industry, including pharmacy. As the environment changes and evolves it is necessary for pharmacists to understand what the Star measures are, where they come from and why they matter. New and significant opportunities are arising as our country shifts its healthcare focus from a numbers model to a performance model. This session will provide detail regarding the Star measures, where they come from, how they are created, a review of up & coming changes and tools to measure performance. This presentation will focus on why they matter to you and what you can do to embrace the changes, impact your ratings as well as impact the quality of care you provide to your patients.
