Pennsylvania Pharmacy Update 2016 and Effective Advocacy

Patricia A. Epple, CAE, CEO, Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association    

Description:

PPA’s CEO will present Pennsylvania Pharmacy Update 2016 and Effective Advocacy, which will be an update on recent law and regulations changes in Pennsylvania and what may be on the horizon.  Additionally, she will include some personal tips on how to be an effective pharmacy advocate and ways to present yourself at the top of your game to legislators.


Program Objectives for Pharmacists

At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

1. Outline recent regulation changes and any proposals under development and their impact on pharmacy in Pennsylvania.

2. Identify recent legislative successes that impact pharmacists and pharmacy

3. Explain current and upcoming pharmacy legislative and regulatory issues in Pennsylvania.

4. List ways that pharmacists can be involved and impact these issues as pharmacy advocates.

5. Discuss current initiatives and activities underway to advance the profession in Pennsylvania.

4. Discuss current registration/licensure status for pharmacy technicians in Pennsylvania.
