Title: New Horizons: Navigating the Changing Tides of Hepatitis C Therapy

Over the past four years, the number of therapeutic options for Hepatitis C has increased and has led us to an interferon-free treatment era. A review of the literature that led to approvals of the direct acting antivirals, including a brief introduction to pipeline agents will be provided. Clinical guidelines will be reviewed. Opportunities for pharmacist involvement in the care of patients with hepatitis C will be highlighted.

Speakers:

Jennifer Andres, PharmD, BCPS, Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice, Temple University School of Pharmacy

Jennifer Andres received her PharmD from Temple and completed a PGY1 residency at the Martinsburg Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Following residency, she joined the faculty at PCOM in Atlanta, Georgia while working as a clinical specialist for an internal medicine team at the Atlanta Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She returned to Temple University as a faculty member in 2014. She teaches the therapeutics of hepatitis to third year students, has published several articles on Hepatitis C, and is developing a pharmacy run-clinic in this therapeutic area.
