Every spring the Pennsylvania
Pharmacists Association hosts a special
pharmacy legislative day in Harrisburg. Pharmacists,
pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy students are
all encouraged to attend and make appointments
to call on their state Representative and
Senator.
PPA
prepares background materials, talking
points, handouts, and an issues briefing as
means of preparing all attendees prior to their
visits at the Capitol.
PPA will
also arrange for tours of the Capitol for
students and others upon request, as well as try
to match students with pharmacists experienced
in meeting with their legislator.
Additionally, the Pennsylvania Schools of
Pharmacy have displays showcasing information on
the value pharmacists provide and perform
various health related screenings. Information
on MTM, diabetes, immunizations, hypertension,
and other services provided by pharmacists is
included.
