PharmPAC

Protecting the interests of Pharmacy and Pharmacists in Pennsylvania!

PharmPAC is a voluntary, non-partisan, non-profit, unincorporated committee whose goal is to establish pharmacists as a concerned and involved constituency that provides active support to political candidates who recognize the needs of pharmacists and the patients we serve.  PharmPAC stands for Pharmacy Political Action Committee, a registered state PAC. It is a legal method of supporting candidates who are favorable to pharmacy issues and is in full compliance with all reporting requirements.

PharmPAC is non-partisan in its selection of candidates.  The program and platform of each individual candidate on pharmacy issues, rather than a party label, determines whom PharmPAC supports.

PharmPAC does not buy votes.  PharmPAC does help us have an active voice in the political process.

How PharmPAC has recently served Pharmacists
in Pennsylvania:

:: Stopped deep and unacceptable cuts in PACE reimbursement in 2009.

:: The passage of Act 102, allowing pharmacists to provide immunizations and establishing CDTM in institutions.

:: Stopped the implementation of mandatory mail order in the PACE program

:: Established regular & frequent price updates for PACE

:: Stopped initiatives in 2002 to reduce Medicaid reimbursement levels

Current Initiatives for which PharmPAC
dollars are needed:

:: Legislation promoting collaborative practice in the community setting

:: Legislation providing for fair and uniform audit standards

:: Legislation which would establish fair reimbursement levels and an appropriate dispensing fee.

:: Legislation which would regulate PBMs (Pharmacy Benefit Managers)

:: Legislation prohibiting mandatory mail order in prescription drug plans
