Pharmacy is no longer just about dispensing
drugs. Pharmacists now have opportunities to
fully utilize their medication knowledge and
expertise in ever-expanding ways. From
medication therapy management and medication
adherence to specific disease state management
programs and collaborative practice, the face of
pharmacy is evolving to a patient care model
through
inter-disciplinary teams.
The future for pharmacy lies in expanding and
building these opportunities in innovative, but
practical ways. Yet pharmacy is somewhat trapped
in the old as the new unfolds. Having the skills
and tools to help make changes happen is
crucial.
Today’s pharmacist must be a leader and an
advocate in their community. This year’s
conference program is designed to help you build
your
activism, involvement,
networking, business,
and patient care skills-all of
which are needed to effect change.
