Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Asthma (EPR-3)
Developed by an expert panel commissioned by the National Asthma Education and Prevention Program (NAEPP) Coordinating Committee (CC), coordinated by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The guidelines focus around four essential components of asthma care: assessment and monitoring, patient education, control of factors contributing to asthma severity, and pharmacologic treatment.
Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA): Global Strategy for Asthma Management and Prevention
Developed by an international panel of experts on the GINA Science Committee. The initiative focuses on comprehensive and practical resource about asthma and contains extensive citations from the scientific literature. A recent update to the guidelines was published in 2017.
