Healthcare errors may be errors of commission, omission, or execution. Errors may be made by any member of the healthcare team in any healthcare setting.

Program Expectations

All CPE programs must comply with PPA and ACPE standards. Guidance on program development can be found here, and details on ACPE requirements and what is expected of presenters can be found on the Speaker FAQ Sheet. Interested presenters are strongly encouraged to review the FAQs prior to submitting a proposal.

Potential speakers should also be familiar with PPA's Commercial Support and Conflict of Interest Policy, PPA's guidelines for student involvement, and understand PPA's expense/reimbursement limitations.

Speakers selected to present CPE programs at PPA Conferences may be selected to present their program again after the conference as an encore webinar. Presenters will work with the CPE Administrator to schedule and prepare for this. Webinars will be recorded and provided as on-demand home study CEs.

Program proposals must be submitted no later than April 21, 2017.

Programs will be selected based on merit and PPA's desire for programming in the selected topic. Presenters will be notified no later than June 15, 2017 as to whether their proposal has been selected. Please be aware that even fantastic program proposals may not be selected for the conference due to scheduling restrictions and similar proposals.

If selected, PPA's CPE Administrator will work with you to determine the final details of the program such as title, objectives, target audience, activity type, and assessment tools based on the details provided in your application. Refusal to make requested changes may result in the cancellation of a program.

Comments, questions, and concerns should be directed to Sara Bowden, Program Manager and CPE Administrator, at sbowden@papharmacists.com or (717) 234-6151 x2.

Presenter Details

For programs with multiple presenters, provide the primary presenter's information here, and include details of other presenters in the comment box at the bottom of this form.

Proposed Program Details

If you are interested in presenting on more than one topic, you must submit separate proposals for each topic.

Program Labeling

In an effort to assist attendees in deciding which programs are appropriate for their knowledge level and educational goals, all CE programs are labeled as Introductory or Advanced. PPA has observed a desire for more advanced level programming, however the conference schedule should include a mix of programs.

Presenters should select the appropriate label for their program based on the following:

  • Introductory/reference level sessions are appropriate for attendees without extensive experience on the topic.
Choose this label for a broad, general overview of a topic.
  • Advanced level sessions are appropriate for attendees who have at least a basic understanding of the topic and are looking to expand their knowledge.
Choose this label for a more specific program, addressing special circumstances and/or subsets within a certain disease state.
Note: For a clinical program to be labeled Advanced, the presenter should be board certified or meet the requirements for board certification in that topic (if applicable). If these requirements are not met, you may submit your rationale for why your program should be labeled Advanced.
