|Committee Volunteer Opportunities|
Many of PPA's projects, programs, and policies are a result of committee work. PPA encourages members to get involved by serving on a committee. Most committees conduct much of their work via conference calls hosted by PPA. Although, in-person meetings are called as necessary. These in-person meetings are usually held at the PPA office in Harrisburg or as part of the Annual or Mid-Year Conference. A list of all current active committees and work groups are listed below.
Develops programs, functions, and budget for the Annual and Mid-Year Conferences.
Selects the recipients for the awards PPA presents annually to deserving members.
Compounding Work Group
Constitution and Bylaws
Reviews the PPA bylaws, proposes changes and updates, and ensures that bylaws are followed.
Dispensing Guidelines Work Group
Editorial Review Board
Oversees the peer review articles and process for The Pennsylvania Pharmacist. Also makes recommendations for publication content.
Develops high quality continuing education programs for PPA members.
Oversees the financial administration of the association and develops the annual budget. Previous experience with other PPA committees is desired
Health Policy Committee
Develops, recommends, and promotes positions related to external health care issues for the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association.
Independent Owners Advisory Committee
Develops and recommends legislative priorities and promotes positions related to independent business issues for the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association.
Medicinal Marijuana Work Group
Solicits and recommends individuals to serve in association leadership positions. Comprised of the last five presidents of PPA.
Partnership for Individual Recruitment & Retention (Membership)
Recruits and retains members in all categories of membership from all practice settings of pharmacy.
Pharmacists Advocacy Committee
Develops and recommends legislative priorities and promotes positions related to other legislative issues for the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association.
PREP Steering Group
Residency program experts who advise on the direction of the Pre-Residency Excellence Program. (PREP)
Public Relations Committee
Develops and coordinates programs and activities promoting pharmacists and a positive image to our various publics. Creates public awareness campaigns and information for the public.
Transitions of Care Work Group
Working to identify and develop best practices around transitions of care.
Reviews and suggests any necessary changes to PPA's website to make the website more user-friendly, organized, and up-to-date.
