Committee Volunteer Opportunities

Many of PPA's projects, programs, and policies are a result of committee work. PPA encourages members to get involved by serving on a committee. Most committees conduct much of their work via conference calls hosted by PPA. Although, in-person meetings are called as necessary. These in-person meetings are usually held at the PPA office in Harrisburg or as part of the Annual or Mid-Year Conference. A list of all current active committees and work groups are listed below.  Committee descriptions can be found by clicking the committee name.

Pharmacists Advocacy Committee

Develops and recommends legislative priorities and promotes positions related to other legislative issues for the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association.

 

Independent Owners Advisory Committee

Develops and recommends legislative priorities and promotes positions related to independent business issues for the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association.

 

Health Policy Committee

Develops, recommends, and promotes positions related to external health care issues for the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association.

 

Partnership for Individual Recruitment & Retention (Membership)

Recruits and retains members in all categories of membership from all practice settings of pharmacy.

PPA's Educational Foundation

Promote the Foundation, fundraising efforts and programs.

 

140th Anniversary Committee

Plans and coordinates events for PPA’s 140th Anniversary in 2018. 

 

Conference Committee

Develops programs, functions, and budget for the Annual and Mid-Year Conferences.

 

Education Committee

Develops high quality continuing education programs for PPA members.

 

Awards Committee

Selects the recipients for the awards PPA presents annually to deserving members.

 

PREP Steering Group

Residency program experts who advise on the direction of the Pre-Residency Excellence Program. (PREP)

 

Website Content Committee

Reviews and suggests any necessary changes to PPA's website to make the website more user-friendly, organized, and up-to-date.

 

Finance Committee

Oversees the financial administration of the association and develops the annual budget. Previous experience with other PPA committees is desired

 

Constitution and Bylaws

Reviews the PPA bylaws, proposes changes and updates, and ensures that bylaws are followed.

 

Nominations Committee

Solicits and recommends individuals to serve in association leadership positions. Comprised of the last five presidents of PPA.
