Foundation Student Scholarships

Support pharmacy's future with a "named" Pharmacy Student scholarship!

For pharmacists and friends:

How can I/ or my company sponsor a "named" scholarship?

Support PPA's Educational Foundation grant program and sponsor a "named" scholarship for a pharmacy student!  Deadline to be a supporting individual or company for the 2017 - 2018 school year is March 1, 2017. If you are interested in supporting pharmacy's future, contact The Educational Foundation.

 

Scholarships committed to by this deadline will be presented in the Fall 2017.  For more specifics on the timetable, please see FAQ below.

 

Companies and or individuals may sponsor a scholarship.  However, in order to name the scholarship, we do ask for a minimum two-year commitment, or a commitment at the magna level, and prefer up to five (5) years.  Those who only wish to commit for one year will be placed in a general scholarship fund to be periodically distributed under the Foundation name. Smaller amounts will be accepted similarly. 

 

"Named" Scholarships are available in three levels.

Summa Cum Laude:

This $5,000 commitment gets you two (2) named $1,500 pharmacy student scholarships and support for the PPA Pharmacists Grant fund for practice research.

Magna Cum Laude:

This $2,500 commitment gets you one (1) named $1,500 pharmacy student scholarship and support for the PPA Pharmacists Grant fund for practice research.

Cum Laude:

This $1,000 commitment gets you one (1) named $500 pharmacy student scholarship and support for the PPA Pharmacists Grant fund for practice research.

 

Recognition: Named scholarships and their sponsors will be recognized in the PPA magazine, on the website, in various other distributed materials, and in the presentation of scholarships at the Annual Conference

  • Pauline Montgomery Memorial Scholarship - One (1) $1,500 Scholarship
  • RDC Scholarship - One (1) $1,500 Scholarship
  • Terra Pharm/ Organic Remedies Pharmacy Scholarship - One (1) $1,500 Scholarship

How can I apply?

The deadline for all applications is June 1, 2017. 

 

All applicants must be PPA members who are at least PY1 and returning to school in the fall.

 

Students only need to apply one time to be considered for all applicable scholarships.  Our scholarship review committee will review all submissions and reserves the right to conduct a telephone interview.  Applicants will be notified of the outcome on or before August 10, 2017.  Scholarship awardees will be officially recognized at breakfast at Annual Conference at Kalahari Resorts on Sunday, September 24th.

Contributions are to be made payable to PPA Educational Foundation and mailed/faxed to the address/number above..  The Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association Education Foundation has been granted 501 (c) (3) status by the IRS.  Contributions may be deductible as charitable expenses for federal income tax purpose.  Please consult your accountant or tax attorney.  The official registration and financial information of the Foundation may be obtained from the PA Department of State by calling toll-free in Pennsylvania, 1-800-732-0999.  Registration does not imply endorsement.
