|LEAD Program Overview and Expectations|
LEAD is a ten month program made up of modules focused on a variety of different areas and aspects of leadership. In addition to the recorded webinars and readings there is considerable focus on discussions, reflections, and interactions with the presenters, Program Leaders, and fellow participants. The emphasis is on building connections, networking, and building lifelong leadership skills that can be applied in a multitude of ways.
The program will kick-off with a special session as either a pre-conference workshop or special programming during the 2017 PPA Annual Conference. The exact date and time have not yet been determined. LEAD's Program Leaders will use this opportunity to engage you in discussions on your expectations of the program and how to make the most of this experience. The workshop may also involve some networking opportunities. While not mandatory, LEAD participants are highly encouraged to stay on for some or all of the conference for maximum impact!
The module areas are:
Time Management and Work/Life Balance
Communicating as a Leader
Pharmacy Leadership and Advocacy
Each module will have one or more short recorded webinars to do at your convenience within the allotted time frame, some possible additional readings, some recommended contacts and interactions, a few assignments and reflective exercises. Each module will conclude with a conference call with the Program Leaders and other participants to share learning pearls and experiences.
PPA's Mid Year conference in late January in Harrisburg will include another opportunity for face-to-face reflections with other participants.
The final conclusion of the program will be at a face-to-face meeting at the PPA office in May. Graduates will receive a certificate of completion and a LEAD pin to proudly wear and will be deemed a Pharmacy LEADer! All graduates will be formally rceognized at the 2017 PPA Annual Conference as the inaugural program LEADers!
It is important to note that the LEAD tuition does not cover travel related expenses but essentially covers all other expenses. The tuition will cover the portion of the conference registrations for the face-to-face meetings. Attendance at other portions of the conference will be discounted.
Applicants are encouraged to explore with their employer the possibility that they will cover all or part of the tuition.
LEAD is presented by the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association and the PPA Educational Foundation.
