Student Programming

Student Programs:

Students attending the conference will be able to participate in several hours of student programming each day, as well as sit in on any continuing education programs, meetings, forums, and other events included in the conference schedule.

PPA plans a variety of programs designed with students in mind.

Friday, January 27

Student Meet & Greet With New Practitioner's:

OTC Competition:

Played very similar to Jeopardy, teams from each school face off and answer questions from a game board with "interesting" self-care categories.  Pharmacists can obtain CE credit while cheering on their favorite teams! The University of Pittsburgh won the competition in 2016, which school will take home the traveling plaque this year?

Saturday, January 28

Know Pain, Know Gain Competition:

This competition starts with a rapid-fire elimination round that brings the number of contestants from 12 to 3, finalists will then participate in a mock patient counseling session.  Judges develop a patient case, and a mock patient will interact with each finalist for up to seven minutes.  If you are interested in participating in this competition, please contact Ashley Robbins.

Poster Presentations:

Show off all your hard work, and present your poster!  38 posters were presented at Mid-Year in 2016.  Pharmacists may also earn CE credit by learning from students about their work!

Sunday, January 29

Sunnyside Up Breakfast:

Come and celebrate all of the good things your Educational Foundation has accomplished!  Foundation mugs will be sold, as well as a Foundation update and grant presentations will be given!
