Mortar and Pestle Award

This award is one of special recognition presented solely at the discretion of the PPA Board of Directors which recognizes service to the pharmacy profession.

This Year's Recipient

Mel Brodsky, RPh

Mel Brodsky is a 1966 graduate of Temple School of Pharmacy, and has been a pharmacist for over 50 years.  He moved to Chicago after graduation to work for a small chain pharmacy, and eventually decided to return to family and friends in Philadelphia and thus opened his own pharmacy, Parkway Drugs Inc.  At that time, he joined PPA and has been a member ever since, making him a loyal member for close to 50 years!  In 1996, he started the Keystone Pharmacy Purchasing Alliance, which is now fully owned by the Philadelphia Association of Retail Druggists.  He is currently the CEO of Keystone Pharmacy Purchasing Alliance, and the Executive Director of PARD.  One of the cornerstone benefits of being a member of Keystone is that it pays for its members to join PPA, because Mel is a firm believer in the importance of being involved and connected with PPA!
