dispensing drugs or checking drug-drug
interactions. My primary goal as a pharmacist

Favorite Thing About Pharmacy: What I
like most about Pharmacy is the ability to not
only have a satisfying career, but more
importantly help people in a number of ways. How
I chose Pharmacy over other health care
disciplines stems from my own personal
experiences with death and disease.
How I Will Positively Impact the Pharmacy
Profession: In order to simplify the
complexity and to reach more students, I intend
to combine PPA and SPAN so that they are
represented together when I schedule regular
meetings throughout the academic year because
they are not dissimilar as related to policies
that govern our profession. In addition, I will
work with student representatives here in
Philadelphia at PCP and Jefferson to form a
strong coalition of student pharmacists.
Nevertheless, I realize that not everyone may
want to join, but at least they have the option
to become involved because the platform will be
there for them to explore. In history, there are
many individuals that can make a difference, but
those leaders that truly create lasting change
elicit the help and support of others around
them. If I can achieve this in my final year
before rotations, then I will have fulfilled my
vision. I look forward to a successful year as a
PY3 student representing TUSP as well as the
largest student PPA membership across
Pennsylvania. Thank you, and I wish you the best
in 2010-2011!

make a difference in their patients' lives as
well as the overall health of the community.

dedication in my career by continuing my work

of the profession of pharmacy and our potential
to impact the lives of all those for whom we
care. I entered pharmacy school with the vision

My Favorite Thing About pharmacy: The
opportunity to teach. I believe that a
successful pharmacy career requires continuous
learning and effective teaching. A pharmacist
can regularly expect to teach on some level, be
it with technicians, students, interns, and most
importantly, with our patients. I cannot think
of a more fulfilling role or necessary skill for
any healthcare professional, than that of an
educator. In the future, I hope to have a role
in academic pharmacy as part of my career.
How I will Impact the Profession of Pharmacy:
I'd like to think that I am already impacting
the profession of pharmacy on some level.
Throughout my education I have done work in the
areas of Inter-professional education, patient
advocacy and work in the free clinic system. I
plan on continuing to pursue these interests
throughout my career to help advance these
causes.
