One of the most important
things any individual can do for their profession is be an
effective leader and advocate. The ability to transform and
change the profession in critical and important ways is
significant. This transformation can take many forms;
political advocacy, changing public perceptions, and
building change from within the profession. As student
pharmacists, beginning the steps towards a strong leadership
and advocacy role is critical. You are the leaders of
tomorrow and the pharmacy profession will become where you
choose to take it.
Partnering
and working through your state pharmacy association is
essential in creating internal professional consensus,
building public awareness, participating and interacting
with other healthcare professionals and patient advocacy
groups, and PPA currently offers opportunities for students
to learn more about advocacy and leadership.
PPA Executive
Director will come to your campus and present
information to your student organization or other group.
