Branching Out: Recent ACIP Immunization Recommendations and Adjuvanted Vaccines

 

This CE presentation will review recent ACIP recommendations that have been accepted and published by ACIP in 2018 and what these recommendations mean to pharmacists. Recent vaccines that have been placed into ACIP recommendations lately have included an adjuvant. A review of this novel therapy will also be focused on and how this affects vaccine products.

Chiara Gessler and Renee Richardson are pharmacists at Giant Eagle Pharmacy. They are both involved with managing the immunization program from a corporate level for the retail locations as well as for employer partners. An important aspect of immunization program management that they have taken part in is vaccine education for all pharmacy team members.
