Legislative Communications

Legislative Update:

Once a month PPA distributes a Legislative Update via email to the entire PPA membership. This monthly bulletin provides all members with a snapshot of the legislative and regulatory news and activities of the past month along with staff and member activities and any action PPA members should take on appropriate issues.  The Legislative Update is typically sent by mid-month.   If you are not receiving this important bulletin, please contact the PPA office

  • Click here to access the our Legislative Update Archives.  We retain up to six months of previous issues.

Small Doses:

PPA distributes a bi-monthly newsletter to all legislators, key staffers, and agency leaders. Small Doses is our tool for presenting positive pharmacy news, advances that are occurring, pharmacists in their communities side of pharmacy and how our issues impact pharmacists and Pennsylvanians in their day to day lives. PPA is at the capitol every day advancing specific legislation and its intent. Small Doses attempts to show legislators the “big picture” of pharmacy be it from the community service of a particular PPA member or affiliated organization, or a “hot topic” issue that has recently been in the news.

Calls To Action:

These are emails from PPA which are sent out to either all members or specifically targeted groups when a specific action is needed. A Call to Action email is utilized to mobilize our members to call, visit, email, fax, or write their legislator(s) when action is required. Calls to Action specifically layout the situation and the action needed and when it should be done. Members should take any email with "Take Action" in the subject line very seriously as they are crucial to advancing and protecting pharmacy issues.

SBOP Summary Reports:

PPA regularly attends the monthly State Board of Pharmacy Meeting and prepares a short report of the key discussions and actions executed in public open session.  This report is available to our members, who wish to receive it, via email on request.  To request your free monthly subscription to the SBOP Summary report, contact PPA.
