Cardinal Health Generation Rx Champions Award sponsored by the Cardinal Health Foundation

This award, given in Pennsylvania for the first time in 2012 and for the last time in 2018, honors a pharmacist who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to raising awareness of the dangers of prescription drug abuse among the general public and among the pharmacy community. The award is also intended to encourage educational prevention efforts aimed at patients, youth, and other members of the community.

This Year's Recipient:

Thomas Franko, PharmD, BCACP


Thomas Franko, PharmD, BCACP is a 2011 graduate of the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy. He currently serves as co-chair of the Pain, Palliative Care, and Addiction Education Committee through APhA. He led efforts to coordinate the first Pennsylvania Pain and Addiction Summit. He is currently the chair of the naloxone subcommittee for PPA and developed a live naloxone training program for the PPA Mid-Year meeting in 2017.
