Mentorship Program

Mentorship Program

This program was developed to foster students interest in their professional careers. Students will be matched with a pharmacists in a variety of different practice settings including: Independent Community, Chain Community, Ambulatory Care, Health System, Long Term Care, Industry, Managed Care, Clinical, etc.This program is designed to cover the duration of the school year, ideally from September through May.

 

Mentor (Pharmacist) Responsibilities:

 

-Mentors should have at least 2 years of professional pharmacy work experience

 

Responsibilities include:

-communicate with mentee at least on a monthly basis

-provide pharmacy industry expertise

-provide networking and professional coaching opportunities

-provide feedback to PPA regarding mentorship program

 

Mentee (Student) Responsibilities:

 

--Mentees must be a SPPA member in good academic standing within his/her academic program

 

Responsibilities include:

-communicate with mentor at least on a monthly basis

-maintain professionalism in all forms of interaction with mentor

-develop an outline of his/her goals for the mentorship relationship and communicate these goals to mentor

-be respectful of the mentor’s volunteered time

-provide feedback to PPA regarding program
