Point of Care testing is a growing practice among community pharmacists as well as pharmacists practicing in a variety of settings. The resources below can guide you to educational platforms, training modules, and certificate programs in order to become proficient in point of care testing.


Advanced Training Programs

National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) Community Pharmacy-Based Point-of-Care Testing Certificate

This course provides pharmacists with the skills necessary to develop and implement a collaborative testing program for point of care testing for influenza, Group A streptococcus, HIV and hepatitis C.  It incorporates an on-line self-study component and live session through authorized providers across the country.

American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) Point of Care Specialist Certificate

This is an on-line certificate program composed of eight courses.  The course exposes the participant to regulations, accreditation, standards and guidelines related to point-of-care testing as well as educational and training needs to begin point of care testing at a practice site.
