PPA Pharmacy Technician of the Year Award

PPA began a new tradition in 2007 with the naming of a Pharmacy Technician of the Year. This award is given to the pharmacy technician who has demonstrated a professional attitude while working as a pharmacy technician in their pharmacy environment, who has shown leadership in the training of other technicians, and who is involved in PPA and other professional organizations and/or community services activities, and has shown overall pride in their work as a pharmacy technician.

This Year's Recipient

Christan Gist, CPhT

Gist started as a cashier at Asti’s South Hill’s Pharmacy in 2013; worked her way up to a technician and has since been a vital part of the pharmacy staff. She is an advocate for her patients and will not rest until she has done everything in her power to get a patient the medication they need at a price they can afford.  She’s an insurance guru, leads the staff in manufacturer coupons program awareness and spends her free time attending events to develop her clinical knowledge to help our patients and our pharmacy be the best.  Her attention to detail and willingness to “pitch in, in a pinch” makes Gist a technician all pharmacies should have the privilege and honor of having on their team.
