I have graduated Pharmacy School - Now What? This toolkit was created to assist graduating students and New Practitioners prepare for what's next. The tools listed below can help you make the professional and personal transition from student to pharmacist. They are categorized into these main areas: Professional Development, Networking/Building Connections, Engagement, Advocacy, and Liability and Other Insurance Needs. Professional Development 

PREP

The Pre-Residency Excellence Program (PREP) was designed specifically to assist individuals entering a pharmacy residency program. This program will give you tips, direction, ideas, and review your skills so that you can be better prepared to jump-start your residency year. We all know how well you perform may affect your future pharmacy career so set yourself on course to be as successful as possible! LEAD

Become a Pharmacy Leader with our Leadership Excellence and Advocacy Development course. LEAD is a ten month program made up of modules focused on a variety of different areas and aspects of leadership.  In addition to the recorded webinars and readings there is considerable focus on discussions, reflections, and interactions with the presenters, program leaders, and fellow participants.  The emphasis is on building connections, networking, and building lifelong leadership skills that can be applied in a multitude of ways. Continuing Education

CE Requirements
In order to remain licensed as a Pharmacist in Pennsylvania, one must demonstrate that they have taken 30 credit hours of pharmacy continuing education during a two-year period. Click here to learn more about this and other Continuing Education requirements.


CE Opportunities 
The Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. We provide a variety of educational activities through multiple venues, most notably at our Annual and Mid-Year Conferences, online webinars, as home studies, and through partnership with other organizations. Networking and Building Connections

PPA Mid-Year Conference 

PPA holds its Mid-Year Conference in January or February of each year. This conference weekend includes continuing education programs, social events, the Kick-Off Reception & Celebration, and the Student OTC Competition. All New Practitioners are invited to a New Practitioner Forum held each year at Mid-Year to discuss current relevant topics. We also ask New Practitioners to evaluate student poster submissions. PPA Annual Conference

PPA holds its Annual Conference every fall; during September or October. This conference is typically Thursday through Sunday and includes continuing education programs, social events, an exhibit hall, PPA's Awards & Leadership Reception & Dinner, PPA's Annual Business Meeting, the Rite of Roses, Officer Installation, Past President & New Practitioner receptions, and PPA's Annual Golf Outing. Each year at the Annual conference, we hold a New Practitioner Reception, and invite all New Practitioners to attend. To learn more about PPA's Annual Conference, click here.

Affiliated Counties

In order to strengthen the pharmacy “voice” and unite pharmacists, the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association has established a program of joint relationships with selected county or regional pharmacy groups within the Commonwealth. Pulse

PULSE is a webinar-based program designed for pharmacists with an interest in advocacy and becoming more involved with the legislative processes.
