Background
The Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association Educational Foundation (PPAEF) was established in 1997 as a 501(c)(3) charitable and public foundation.
In 2009, the Foundation underwent a process to revamp its focus and mission. A new direction of offering pharmacy practice enhancement based on mini-grants was begun and the Foundation’s Board of Directors completed its first round of mini grants in 2010 and continues this program today.
The Educational Foundation also helped spawn the idea for the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Care Network, a statewide clinical integrated and collaborative network of community pharmacists and pharmacists joined together to improve the practice of pharmacy across the state through the provision of advanced patient care activities. PPCN has experienced significant growth and stands as a nationwide example for enhanced service networks. All from one grant and one idea!
PPAEF supports student skills competitions, annual grants, scholarships, the Leadership Excellence and Advocacy Development program (LEAD), as well as a poster competition
for student pharmacists that garners participation from many statewide.
PPAEF continues to invest in the future of pharmacy by fostering research and education and advancing innovative pharmacy practice and patient care. Tax-deductible gifts from generous donors help to make this work possible.
