Point of Care Testing/CLIA Waiver

Getting Prepared with a CLIA Waived Lab License:

PPA and our partners are working on updating our information and toolkit on this in the coming weeks to help you!

  1. Below there is a series of webinar modules to help you prepare for this license.  Any pharmacists or pharmacy technicians/staff who may help with your program development may access them.  There is no CE credit.
  2. Complete the federal CLIA waived application as explained below in the modules
  3. Review the PPA-PPCN toolkit with our helpful templates – link is below at bottom of the page. 
  4. Take the NACDS Point of Care Training – information coming!
  5. File a Pennsylvania application
  6. Submit any questions you have using the form at the bottom of the page.  This may be done at any time.

1. NACDS Point of Care Testing

This is a 16 hours home study prior to the four-hour live training.PPA along with many schools of pharmacy is a licensed provider of the live training and there are numerous faculty throughout the state.

Information on registration for the online portion and upcoming virtual live trainings is forthcoming.
