Are you prepared to be among our next generation of leaders?
No matter where you hang your license – pharmacy in Pennsylvania needs elite pharmacists who are expert leaders and advocates for the profession and for our community.
LEAD is a one-year experience which will:
- Build Leadership Skills
- Foster Connections
- Cultivate Your Professional Network
- Produce Life Leadership Lessons
- Share Ideas and Real-World Experiences
- Provoke Discussions
- Prepare you for leadership roles in PPA and beyond
Areas of Study
The LEAD program will have monthly modules on specific topics. Modules will include short, recorded webinars for you to access at your leisure, a monthly call and discussion with the presenter and other participants, interaction with other individuals, and specific action steps to reinforce your learning objectives. Additionally, there may be face-to-face meetings with the group, at the PPA Conferences and Leadership Retreats, along with Board and Committee participation. Modules of learning include, but are not limited to:
Application Requirements
All practicing pharmacists are encouraged to apply. Whether you are looking to expand your experience, strengthen your skill set, or develop your leadership abilities, this program offers valuable opportunities for professional growth. We welcome applications from both new graduates and experienced pharmacists, as strong leadership skills are essential at every stage of a pharmacist’s career.
Please note that preference will be given to pharmacists who are not currently enrolled in a residency program, as the significant time and workload commitments associated with residency may limit a participant’s ability to fully engage in the program.
Other required application elements include two essay questions, a CV/resume, a letter of recommendation, and a $50 non-refundable application fee. You will also be required to participate in a short virtual interview with a representative from the LEAD Development Committee prior to acceptance into the program.
Tuition/Enrollment Fee
With the exception of the application fee, participation in this program is provided at no additional cost. However, participants are responsible for any expenses associated with attending required in-person events. To receive a certificate of completion, participants are expected to actively engage in both virtual and in-person program activities throughout the course of the program.
PPA hosts the following in-person events, and participation is strongly encouraged:
- PPA Annual Conference (February)
- Legislative Day (Spring)
- PPA Leadership Retreat (Fall)
- PPA Regional Meeting (Fall)
Application Deadline for the 2026-2027 LEAD Program Cohort is July 27, 2026
LEAD is jointly presented by the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association and the PPA Educational Foundation for the purpose of fostering leaders in the pharmacy profession.
